MORRIS - Amy L. Gage, 70, of Morris, passed away in the comfort of her own home on June 4, 2019.
Amy was born on June 12, 1948, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to the late Frederick and Gladys (Vernooy) Wagner.
Amy was employed by Corning Inc. in Oneonta as a quality control inspector for 37 years.
She was also an active member of American Legion Post 189 in Norwich and vice president of the Morris Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Amy enjoyed baking cookies, cakes, making strawberry jam and was extremely well-known for her homemade Easter chocolate. Other hobbies were going to the gym (pool) and playing Triominos with her sisters.
Amy had a love for coupon shopping and sales, even if she didn't need it. The spare room in her house was a mini-grocery store for her kids and grandkids.
In addition to hosting all holidays with her children and grandchildren, she was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She attended many sporting events, concerts and graduations and was the most loving mother/grandmother any of us could ever ask for. For more than three years Amy was with her son, Stacy, whether it was caring for him, going to lunch, visiting friends or watching TV and taking naps.
Amy leaves behind her loving daughters and daughter-in-law, Lisa (Sean) Cole, Kelly Gage, Shelly (Bill) Kellum and Maxine Gage; grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah, Keith, Kirsten, Lance, Samantha, Alex, Milo, Derek and Aimee; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Stefan and Leila; brother, Fred (Diana) Wagner; sisters, Martha Benjamin, Lois (Robert) Jones, Helen Hoag, Sophie (Ed) Liberatore; several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving canine companion, Shelby.
She is predeceased by her son, Stacy Gage; brother, Dennis Rowe; brother- in-law, Adrian Benjamin; nephew, Scott Hoag and niece, Susan Winters.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours held at the Johnston Funeral Home, 60 Broad St., Morris, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, June 14. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Estes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Amy's name may be made to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, 297 River Street Service Road, Suite 1, Oneonta, NY 13820, or the American Cancer Society.
The Johnston Funeral Home in Morris has been entrusted with her care.
