Ann Budin

March 13, 1922 - March 10, 2019

Ann Budin MARGARETVILLE - Antonia Budin passed peacefully at noontime, Sunday, March 10, 2019, at home, holding the hand of her beloved son, Dave, three days shy of her 97th birthday.
She was born Antonia Kotansky in Watervliet, on March 13, 1922.
Antonia married George Budin, who worked for New York Telephone. They lived in Albany, Syracuse and Suffern. They divorced in 1975.
She went to live with her son, Dave, and assisted him with running the gun shop, Del-Sports Inc., in Margaretville.
Before the age of computers, Antonia sold and filled out thousands of paper fishing and hunting licenses. She made many friends and repeat customers with her happy way of doing things.
Antonia loved to travel with her son, Dave, while he represented the Swarovski/Kahles rifle scope companies from Austria. She particularly loved Dave's annual salmon fishing trips to the Margaree River in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She also enjoyed car rides along the many Catskill streams and rivers and read in the car while Dave fly fished.
She was predeceased by her two sons, Paul and George.
Antonia is survived by her son, Dave of Margaretville and daughter, Anne of Glenmont.
Mom devoted most of her life to caring for her son, Dave, and his shop, Del-Sports Inc.
She was very active both physically and mentally until she had a heart attack last October.
A better mom no son could ever wish for. There are very few like Antonia and she will be missed a lot.
Per Antonia's wishes there will be no services.
Special thanks go to Dr. Gregory Xanthaky for keeping her healthy and going, everyone at Catskill Area Hospice and Kellie Sullivan and Helen de Stefanis of Kaatskill Eldercare for bringing comfort and joy to Antonia's final months and days.
Care is entrusted to Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.

Dave, we are so sorry for the loss of your Mom Ann. We just learned of this today (Sat). We know you loved her so very much. We certainly loved her too. Her life was dedicated to you in so many ways and yours to her. We enjoyed coming over and talking to you and her. We are so glad we came to see her on the 9th. If you need us for anything at all, please don't hesitate in letting us know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
