LAURENS - Betty J. Card, 75, of Laurens, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at home.
She was born at Fox Hospital in Oneonta, on Aug. 5, 1942, daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Whitney) Hughes.
Betty graduated from Oneonta High School.
She was first married to Ronald DeLong and, in 1992, at the Cooperstown Junction United Methodist Church, Betty married Harold B. Card. Harold predeceased her on Dec. 25, 2012.
Betty worked at P&C grocery for many years first on Chestnut Street and then Hartwick Seminary before retiring.
She enjoyed riding motorcycle, taking walks with her son, being with her fur babies, listening to country music and long visits with her brother, Albert.
Betty is survived by her son, Rodney DeLong of Laurens with whom she resided with for several years and had been lovingly cared for since she was taken ill with dementia; former daughter-in-law, Nancy DeLong and her daughter, Julie Eichhorn of Unadilla; daughter, Tina Venth of Oneonta; three grandchildren, Sara, Matthew and Ashley Venth all of Oneonta; brother, Albert and Cegret Hughes of Oneonta; sister, Linda (Hughes) Louden of Sidney; several nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by her fur babies, Lucky and Mason, who were always by her side.
The family thanks Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care and the Office of the Aging who were by her side for the last 18 months.
Memorial services were private.
