Carolyn Hamilton's Story
GAINESVILLE, Va. - Carolyn Hamilton Adams of Gainesville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, surrounded by her family.
She was the beloved wife of Ronald B. Adams; loving mother to Diane Adams and Lou Ann Adams Lagana; mother in-law of Brian Lagana; and wonderful grandmother to her grand-pup, Emma.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1937, in Delhi, to the late Carl J. and Eva P. (Jackson) Hamilton.
Carolyn graduated from Delaware Academy Central School and SUNY Cobleskill.
She was a stay-at-home mother until her children graduated and then re-entered the workforce, first at Provimi Veal in Bloomville and then at Corning Incorporated in Oneonta.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, interior decorating, shopping and Sudoku puzzles. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile, love of laughter and kindness and willingness to always help others.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Jack and sister-in-law, Teresa Hamilton; nephew, John Hamilton; and sister-in-law, Peggy Hamilton.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ron; and daughter, Diane Adams, both of Gainesville, Virginia; daughter and son-in law, Lou Ann and Brian Lagana of Alexandria, Virginia; brother, Carl "Bruce" Hamilton of Vinton, Virginia; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, Virginia at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2, followed by a reception at the Kingstowne Snyder Center. A private burial will take place at a later date in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, Virginia.
