ONEONTA - Clarabelle M. Page, 80, of Oneonta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 26, 1936, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Eggler) Cahill.
On Oct. 24, 1954, Clarabelle married Richard G. Page at the River Street Baptist Church.
For many years, Clarabelle was a day care provider in her home. She loved taking care of the children and watching them grow.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, woodworking and playing bingo. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading about history and current events. She was a huge New York Yankees fan and especially liked watching Derek Jeter. While her children were growing up she was very active in the Little League Auxiliary.
Clarabelle was an adventurous person and enjoyed rafting trips and any other adventure that came up. But the most important thing in Clarabelle's life was her family. She loved the time that she spent with her children and her grandchildren and also her great-granddaughter. She was selfless and always gave more than she received.
Clarabelle is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Page, Oneonta; five children, Patty (Terry) Breuer, Oxford, Richard (Ashley) Page Jr., Ocala, Florida, Pamela (John) Dutchick, Vernon, Stephen (Laurie) Page, Cooperstown Junction, and Paula Lewin, Laurens; eight grandchildren, Gregory and Amy Breuer, Amanda Page Hill, Ricky Page, John Dutchick Jr., Andrew, David and Matthew Lewin; great-granddaughter, Riley Dutchick; siblings, Jack Cahill, Pat Cahill, Dottie Cahill and Sharon Hillis; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Sparaco and Carolyn Moore.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a service to celebrate the life of Clarabelle M. Page at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.
