David A.'s Story
FRANKLIN David A. McNeilly, 72, of Franklin, passed away on Jan. 18, 2018.
David was born July 28, 1945, in Onenta, to Robert and Rosalyn McNeilly.
After attending Franklin Central School,. David served his country in the United States Army from May 31, 1966 to June 6, 1969, stationed at Fr. Leonard Wood, Missouri. David served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and was awarded five distinguished meals.
David worked for Asplund Tree experts for 35 years, retiring in 1994 and remained active in the IBEW Local Union 1249 until June 1, 2008.
David enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, woodworking, tinkering on projects and his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Quinten (Jenna) McNeilly and Ryan McNeilly; four grandchildren, Zachy, Mariah, Sarah and Bryce; siblings, Daniel (Sandy) McNeilly, Roger McNeilly, Richard (Jen) McNeilly, Phylis (Ralph) Sitts and Kelly (Paul) Nichols; aunts, Shirley, Chris and Delores; uncle, Paul; and several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Orman, Robert and Paul.
The family gives heartfelt thanks to Hospice.
