EDMESTON - David Hunter Kent, 63, of Edmeston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017.
Dave was born on May 11, 1954, in Cooperstown, the son of the late John and Isabella Brand Kent.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Genevieve Kent Waller; brother-in-law, William Nevil; and parents-in-law, Joe and Joan Seifried.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Seifried Kent, who he married on Aug. 5, 1978; sons, John D. Kent and Joseph B. Kent; sister, Kathleen Nevil; sisters-in-law, Lori Sullivan (John) and Leslie Seifried (Vito); brothers-in-law, Wesley Waller, Lee Seifried (Patty) and Lewis Seifried (Deb). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dave retired as head bus mechanic for the Edmeston Central School District bus garage on June 19, 2009, after 31 years of service.
He was a former fire commissioner and longtime Edmeston Fire Department member.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Delker and Terry Funeral Home, 30 South St., Edmeston, with Pastor Jay Henderson of the Burlington Flats Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of calling hours, all are invited to the Edmeston Fire Department for refreshments following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Edmeston Fire Department, in memory of Dave.
