David McKinley

August 26, 1941 - November 30, 2017

ONEONTA - David McKinley, 76, of Oneonta, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Woodside, Queens the son of William and Kathleen (Kennedy) McKinley.
David proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
On Nov. 8, 1964, David married Louise Pasquorella in Woodside. They just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
After moving to the area, David owned and operated Northern Slings & Supply in Wells Bridge for many years until his retirement.
He loved being at home working on his house and in his garden. He also loved his animals and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his loving wife, Louise McKinley of Oneonta; son, John McKinley and Darcy Aldous of Ithaca; one granddaughter, Elizabeth McKinley; sister, Betty Schalk of Middletown; brother, Edward (Pattie) McKinley, of Otego; brother-in-law, Frank (Karen) Pasquorella of Brooklyn; a good friend, Betty Lynch of Oneonta; as well as many nieces and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Kathleen McKinley; brother, Bill McKinley; and beloved dog, "Casey."
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.
Funeral services will immediately follow at noon. Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4845 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326, in loving memory of David McKinley.
