GOODYEAR LAKE - Dennis Anthony Chicorelli, 71, of Goodyear Lake, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late Anthony and Frances (Beach) Chicorelli.
Upon graduation, Dennis joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era.
On June 29, 1974, Dennis married Gale VanWarner at the Main Street Baptist Church, Oneonta.
For more than 35 years, Dennis was a machine operator at Amphenol in Sidney until his decline in health and was required to retire in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and bowling. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed working on his own cars, going to car shows and the car cruise-ins.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Gale Chicorelli of Goodyear Lake; daughter, Kathy Frances Chicorelli of Goodyear Lake; sister, Karen Dutcher and Mike Morales; brother, Dan and Stephanie Chicorelli, Baltimore, Maryland; brother-in-law, Roy and Margaret VanWarner, Maryland; as well several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at St. Mary's Church, 43 Walnut St., Oneonta with the Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating. Burial will be held in the spring in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
