Dennis I.'s Story

FORT PLAIN - Dennis I. Prime, 57, Fort Plain, died at home on July 13, 2017.
Dennis was born on Sept. 16, 1959 in Herkimer.
He is predeceased by his parents, Keith and Doris (Van Alstine) Prime, Cherry Valley; and his sister, Kathleen Hogan, Fort Plain.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Lynda; two sons, Nicholas and Amber Prime of Norwich and Benjamin and Rebecca Prime of Sprakers; two granddaughters, Liliana of Norwich and Gracie of Sprakers; sister, Christine Chase of Fort Plain; three brothers, Kevin and Debbie Prime of Bedford, Virginia, David and Bonnie Prime of Cherry Valley, Kent and Patricia Prime of Cherry Valley; several nieces and nephews.
Over the years Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, Celtics basketball, camping, feeding and watching the birds in his yard, playing cards and celebrating with family and friends.
Dennis worked on dairy farms while still in school. After graduating from Springfield CSD in 1978, he worked for JB Auto in Amsterdam, Hawkins Auto Sales in Nelliston, and Town of Minden for 20 years. He retired in 2002 due to medical issues.
A Celebration of Dennis's life will take place at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 23, at the South Minden Fire Department.
In memory of Dennis, contributions may be made to the South Minden Fire Department or Mountain Valley Hospice.
