Dolores G. Fogarty UNADILLA - Dolores "Dee" Gayle Fogarty of Unadilla passed away on Sept. 29, 2018.
She was born in Stamford on Sept. 15, 1943, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ida (Golfetto) Faora.
Dolores grew up in Grand Gorge. After graduating from high school she attended SUCO graduating with a teaching degree.
She taught in several area schools. In addition to teaching Dolores earned an advanced degree in administration from Syracuse University. She then attended Touro School of Law in Central Islip, earning her law degree.
Dee practiced law until recently from her law office in Unadilla as well as for the Otsego County Public Defender's office. She was a highly regarded professional and deeply involved in community service.
Flying was a passion for Dee. She had a private pilot's license. She was active in Fagan Flyers at the Sidney Airport serving as past president. There she developed many friendships in the aviation community. A lover of animals, Dee had several dogs over the years.
Dee is survived by longtime partner, Jerry Foote, Unadilla; sister, Amelia "Amy" and Peter Kutcher, Lewisberry, Pennsylvania; along with several cousins. She is also survived by extended family, Ryan and Tiffany Johnson and their family, Homer.
The family thanks the staff of Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in NYC for the exceptional care given Dolores "Dee," especially Renee.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.
