Donna Jean Mullinex

Events

MILFORD - Donna Jean Mullinex born Feb. 4, 1954, left the hands of her loving family to the arms of her awaiting mother, Charlotte Kleingardner, father, Walter Clapper and oldest brother, Walter Clapper on May 13, 2019, at 9:32 p.m.
She was adored and cared for by her first and only love, husband of 45 years, Tom "Pop" Mullinex.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jessica Mullinex of Cooperstown; and the loves of her life, grandsons, Austin and Cecil Mullinex; along with her stepmother, Thelma Clapper.
Donna shared a unique bond with her loving big sister, Beverly Wyckoff of Newport, North Carolina; her always humorous brothers, George, Kim, Timothy and Walter Clapper; and her sisters, Angel Ferguson and Cindy Donaldson, who were also a constant source of laughter. Donna also loved and often cared for her many nieces, nephews and friends of the family.
Donna was a 1973 graduate of Livingston Manor High School. Soon to become a wife and loving mother, she moved to the Oneonta area and worked for many years at Kmart, but to Donna the most satisfying work was just being the forever "community mom." The many birthday parties, barbecues and family get-togethers she hosted were always fun, well-attended and full of love. She would run herself ragged making all of us feel welcome in her home.
Donna also loved her animals like they were her children, often referring to them as her "fur babies." In lieu of flowers and cards the family is requesting any size donations be made to Super Heroes in Ripped Jeans, 697 Winney Hill Road, Oneonta, NY 13820, as she often supported the many nonprofit pet care facilities in the area and would be honored to know she could have one more chance to help.
Donna will be forever loved and so deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St. in Oneonta, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker, retired, officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m.Friday, before her service.
Burial will take place in Oneonta Plains Cemetery at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.lhpfuneralhome.com.

Aunt Donna, You will always remain in my heart and mind. For all of the times you picked me up and took care of me when I was young, steered me when I was lost and welcomed me when I needed love. You were always there! I adore you sweet woman and I always will. Tell everyone I will see them soon when my mission here is complete. Watch over us and know that our lips will always tell of the wonderful heart and loving soul you had on this earth. I love you!!
