ONEONTA - Doris L. Miller, 88, passed away May 23, 2017, at the Bridgewater Rehabilitation in Binghamton.
She was born July 15, 1928, in Oneonta, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Sargeant) Leonard.
Doris grew up in Laurens where she graduated from Laurens Central School.
She married Donald L. Miller. The couple loved traveling across the country between New York and California. They celebrated their 50th anniversary while living in California several years before Donald passed in 1991.
Doris worked in the steam room at a dry cleaning business in Oneonta and was a nurse's aide most of her working years, lastly working at Otsego County Infirmary.
She is survived by her son, Donald M. Miller Sr. and wife, Ellen, of Mount Vision; two daughters, Linda Miller of Overland Park, Kansas and Donna McInerny of Garden Grove, California; daughter-in-law, Youvonne Miller; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Miller; son, Gary Miller; grandsons, Mickey Miller and Michael Miller; and half-sister, Elena Ruth Spoor Sessions.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. The Rev. Keith VanDewerker, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Unadilla will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
