SIDNEY CENTER - Dorothy (Ketchum) Crawford lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
She was a very caring and gentle person. Her love for her family, friends and animals was enormous.
Dorothy worked at the Delaware Valley Humane Society in Sidney as a kennel assistant for 33 years.
She was a graduate of Sidney Central School where she met her husband, Terry. They married Aug. 5, 1967. He predeceased her on April 14, 2016.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Phillip and Cathy Crawford, Yelm, Washington and Jeffrey and Teresa Crawford, Sidney Center; three sisters, Kathy and Carl Hicks, Cortland, Marcella Noble, Albany and Martha and Max Clark, Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Glen Ketchum, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Derrick, Tyler, Maygean, Kaillsea, Arron and Amber; 10 great-grandchildren; her dog, Killer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Ruth Ketchum; six brothers, Carl, Richard, Cliff, David, Leon and Don Ketchum; and a sister, Marjorie Ulrich.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Sidney Center at a later date.
