DENVER - Edward Anthony Williams, 67, of Denver, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Margaretville Memorial Hospital.
Edward was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Huntington, the son of George and Elvira (Gaita) Williams.
He married Leigh F. Kaestner on Dec. 29, 1974, at Hauppauge. Leigh passed away on March 27, 2008, and Ed passed away on their wedding anniversary, almost 10 years later.
Ed enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country in the Vietnam War, where he received many honors and medals for his service.
Over the years Ed worked as an auto mechanic, carpenter, and landscaper. His love for classic cars, motorcycles, good food the outdoors, family and friends provided lasting fond memories for most.
Ed was a happy grandfather, dedicated father, devoted husband and loving uncle, sibling and son. He was a man of honor and respect and was a true friend to many. He will be missed, as he touched the hearts of so many.
Ed is survived by his children, Melanie Warner and her husband, Jerry, Kelly Williams and Edward Williams; grandchildren, Olivia and LJ Warner; sister, Corrine Brooks; brother, Henry Williams. He was the brother-in-law of Jack Brooks, Lawrence and Patti McLafferty and Robert and Nancy Shirley. He was the uncle of many, Cindy, John, Cathy, James, Rob, Ryan, Elizabeth, Alex, Megan and Julie; and he was great-uncle and cousin of many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday Jan. 6, at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, Grand Gorge, New York with the Rev. Michael Cambi as celebrant. A reception will follow.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Jan. 4, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
Committal will take place in Bedell Cemetery, Fleischmanns, at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
