COOPERSTOWN - George C. Kondrick, 73, of Burlington Flats, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2017, at Focus Otsego.
George was born on Nov. 26, 1944, in Brooklyn, son of the late John A. and Catherine Schaefer Kondrick.
He was raised and educated in Brooklyn and graduated from Richmond Hill High School.
On June 25, 1969, he married the former Cheryl Niebling, in Queens. It was a loving union of 48 years.
He was employed as a mailer with the New York Times in its Manhattan office for 40 years. He retired in 2005.
For many years, he and Cheryl owned land in Burlington Flats as a place to get away, but in 2005, they made it their home.
George enjoyed the outdoors in Burlington, their pond, his many apple trees that he took care of and the hundreds of oak trees that filled the land. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of the NRA.
Surviving him are his wife, Cheryl; son, Craig Kondrick of Burlington Flats; three daughters, Catherine (Peter) Konovitch of Levittown, Christine Kondrick of Glendale, Cynthia Kondrick of Burlington Flats; brother, John (Frances) Kondrick of Burlington Flats; sister, Catherine Schumacher of East Hampton, Long Island; five grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Konovitch, Kevin (Sarah) Konovitch, Timothy Konovitch, Sean Kondrick, Sabrina Kondrick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Kondrick; and brother, Robert Kondrick.
Funeral services, arranged by J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs, have already taken place.
