WALTON - Harold R. Lincourt, 89, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2017, at Fox Hospital, Oneonta.
Harold was born on Nov. 28, 1927, in Herkimer, the son of the late Dolphus and Leona (Bronson) Lincourt.
He was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School.
He married the former Stella Ubner on Nov. 27, 1948, in Richfield. In 1955, he and Stella moved to Walton from Fly Creek.
He proudly served his country in the United States in the Army of Occupation in Germany during World War II.
He was employed for many years at Metropolitan Insurance Co., as an agent and later for Marvin & Sholes.
Harold enjoyed motorcycles, camping, golfing square dancing and playing the organ.
He was a member of Walton's Frank Mead Eellis VFW Post 270 and Truman C. Toby American Legion Post 32.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Stella; his children, Linda and Jerry Eskow of Hamden, Betty and Brian Davis of Laurens and Richard and Elaine Lincourt of Charlestown, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Brian and Beth Lincourt, Nathan and Sarah Davis, great-grandchildren, Robert and Richard Lincourt, Tessa Davis, Julian Lentz and Trey Hall; two brothers, Laurence Lincourt of Waterville and Carlton and Marlene Lincourt of Tipp City, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Karen Ubner and Robert and Marcia Ubner both of Fly Creek; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Lincourt.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 24, with the Rev. Edward J. Golding officiating. Burial followed in the Walton Cemetery with full military honors.
