Jennifer J.'s Story
OTEGO - Jennifer J. Morissette, 74, longtime resident of Otego, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, in Ocala, Florida.
She was born July 16, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Kenneth Jackson and Miriam Brown-Jackson.
She attended private school at The Ellis School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jennifer resided in Otsego County for 43 years, from Oneonta to Milford farms and then later the Otego area.
She was employed for years at the United Methodist Church, then Oneonta Savings and Loan (Astoria). She also worked for numerous years at Hartwick College in the nursing department until she retired.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Morissette Sr.; her children, Frank (Brenda) Morissette of Howes Cave, Miriam Rowland of Orange Park, Florida and Edward (Samantha) Morissette of Otego; stepchildren, John Morissette Jr. (Brenda) of Otego and Tammi Morissette of Bradenton, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keck (Mary) Jackson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Bill (Robin) Ingram of Virginia; along with cousins, nephews, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; stepchild, Kenny Morissette; and grandson, Jeffrey Morissette.
Jennifer loved her family, friends and tending to her flower gardens, and hummingbirds. She was loved and admired by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
We will always love you mom. Our family will remember and cherish all of the moments we had with you.
Graveside services in West Oneonta Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
