Karl F.  Zimmerman


STAMFORD - Karl F. Zimmermann, 81, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 6, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Dec. 20, 1937 in Delhi, Karl was the son of the late Frederick H. and Alice (Bolles) Zimmermann.
He was a graduate of Delaware Academy, where he excelled at athletics.
Mr. Zimmermann proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Karl worked for several years with his father in carpentry and then worked in the pharmaceutical Industry until his retirement.
He was married to his devoted and loving wife, Pauline (Fleischmann) Zimmermann. The couple enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, Florida, for the past 17 years.
He enjoyed boating on the St. Lawrence River/Seaway and in Canada. However, Karl's greatest passion was his family. He loved spending time making memories with his family and close friends.
Karl is survived by his wife, Pauline Zimmermann; three very loving children, Pauline (Patrick) Dugan, Tina (Paul) Daley and John Fleischmann; four grandchildren, Kristen Barber, Chad Hornbeck, Spencer and Harrison Daley; great-grandson, Colby Barber; a sister, Nancy (Robert) Mable; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13. Burial will follow in Stamford Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Karl may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care.
