FANCY GAP, Va. - Lawrence W. Mead, 80, of Fancy Gap, Virginia, passed away Aug. 4, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Mead was born on Feb. 21, 1937, in Oneonta, to the late Charles and Alice Daly Mead.
Lawrence served honorably in the Air Force from 1955 to 1961.
Following his military service he went to work for Amphenol from which he retired later in life.
Following his retirement, Lawrence enjoyed traveling with his wife, Carole, visiting his children and grandchildren in various parts of the country, and celebrating the successes of his family through various weddings, graduations, and other special events.
Mr. Mead is survived by his wife, Carole Mead, of the home; his children, Lawrence "Larry" Mead and wife, Mary of Florida, Rebecca Anne Van Velsan and husband, Rodney of Missouri; grandchildren, Caitlin Mead, Hannah Mead, Ashton Crispin and husband, Chad and Coleton Still; sister, Helen Quackenbush of New York; and great-grandchildren, McKinleigh Kuhl, Carolina Crispin and Huxley Crispin.
