Leila B.'s Story
WAYNE, N.J. Leila B. (Bacon) Segrist, 89, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on March 1, 2018.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she lived in Springfield, Massachusetts, Yonkers, Ridgewood, New Jersey, and Milford, before moving to Wayne 12 years ago.
Mrs. Segrist also attended the Passaic County Adult Day Care Program in Totowa, New Jersey, for a number of years.
Fiercely independent and strong, Leila's professional career selling advertising space for Ruben Donnelly started in the 1950's, and she continuously worked as an interior design consultant for many years before "retiring" in 1987.
She and her husband opened the Country Meadow Inn where they owned and operated the bed and breakfast for 17 years.
She was the loving mother of Melissa (John) Sandner of Wayne, Doug (Susan) Ferguson of Scottsdale, Arizona, Pam (Charles) Deschamps of New Rochelle, Greg (Helen) Ferguson of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Glenn Ferguson of Honolulu, Hawaii; loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Segrist (2005); and son, the late Bradley Ferguson (1994).

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield, Massachusetts.
