ARKVILLE - Lela Mae Wiltsie, 84, of Arkville, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Albany Medical Center.
Lela was born Feb. 12, 1928, at Oneonta, the daughter of Myron H. and Dorothy (Taylor) Wiltsie.
The family lived in Oneonta until Lela was five years old when they moved to Margaretville.
Lela graduated from Margaretville Central School in 1945. Soon after, the family relocated to Binghamton, where Lela attended Broome Business School for a year before working as a secretary for ANSCO.
After marrying Stratton H. Todd they lived in Seager, located at the upper end of the Dry Brook Valley where they raised four sons.
After moving to Arkille, Lela's working years included Wickham's Insurance, Fuelane, and 20 years at the Catskill Mountain News.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and crafts.
She is survived by four sons, Charles, Roy, Lynn and Jay; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Betty) Wiltsie; three nephews; two nieces; and one great-niece.
Lela was predeceased by a grandson, Jay Paul Todd.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday Nov. 22, followed by a graveside service in the Margaretville Cemetery with Pastor Shirley Davis officiating.
Donations in memory of Lela Mae Wiltsie may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Margaretville, NY 12455.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
