TORRINGTON, Conn. - Leo G. Dubreuil, 82, of Torrington, Connecticut and Milford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Leo was born June 16, 1935 in Willimantic, Connecticut, son of the late Alfred and Olive Dubreuil.
Leo served nine years with the Army National Guard of Connecticut and was honorably discharged on Feb. 26, 1961.
Leo started his career as a mechanic with Essex Boat Works in Essex, Connecticut. He moved on to become the lead technical instructor for SAAB Automobile Company of America. After retiring from SAAB, Leo opened Classic Restorations where he enjoyed his passion of restoring antique automobiles.
Leo's hobbies included his love for baseball, history, and the arts. Leo was proficient at painting, using the mediums of oil and water color. Leo had a great love of studying military history, especially the Civil War and World War II.
Leo is survived by his son, Alfred and his wife, Pamela Dubreuil of Milford; daughter, Jo A and her husband, Robert Williams of Hancock, Maine and Cumby, Texas; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Leo was predeceased by his wife, Olive and his daughter, Noreen.
The last three years of Leo's life were spent with his companion, who he loved dearly, Maryann Andrews of Torrington, Connecticut.
