PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Marie Mumbulo Bloom, 70, died in Providence, Rhode Island, on July 20 2017.
Though Marie had spent the past decade living with her children in Virginia and Rhode Island, she always considered Edmeston her home. Marie often spoke of her hometown and her dear friends from New York, being sure to keep up with news from town and her alma mater, Edmeston Central School.
Her parents Lewis and Pauline Mumbulo, both of whom she always cherished, preceded Marie in death. Lewis and Pauline adopted Marie when she was a small child and she remained forever grateful for that loving gift.
Marie was a nurse by both training and disposition. Even as her health declined, Marie was still helping to care for both of her children and all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Melissa and Christopher, who were blessed to be with Marie at the time of her passing. Melissa's children, Alexander, Aaron, Elizabeth and Christopher's daughters, Genevieve and Millicent, cherished their time with their grandmother and will miss her loving presence in their lives.
Marie always had a love of books and reading. The Edmeston Free Library always held a special place in her heart. Housed in the same building where her grandmother once lived, she spent countless hours at the library, as both a worker and a patron.
In Marie's memory, we hope you that you might visit the library regularly and take a moment to appreciate the generations of people who have benefited from its presence.
