Marion's Story

ONEONTA - Marion A. Hanor, 94, passed away Dec. 11, 2017, at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born July 19, 1923, in Oneonta, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Yaple) Cole.
Marion graduated from Oneonta High School.
She married Charles John Hanor on Sept. 7, 1940.
Marion was employed for more than 40 years at Bresee's Department Store in Oneonta and enjoyed her working trips to the buyers seminars in New York City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 62-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by sons, David (Ann Marie) Hanor of Oneonta, Burton (Linda) Hanor of Layton, Utah, Robert Hanor of Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, and Norman (Susan) Hanor of Oneonta; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in February of 1958; a son, Stephen C. Hanor; five brothers; her parents and her husband's parents.
Graveside services in Butternuts Valley Cemetery in Garrattsville will be held later.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements are with the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
