Nancy Louise Snedeker

December 24, 1942 - September 04, 2018

Nancy Louise Snedeker Nancy Louise Snedeker, 75, died peacefully on September 4th, 2018, with her family by her side at her home in Copper Canyon, Texas.

At her request, no service will be held and the family will have a personal Celebration of Life in the days to come.

Our beloved Nancy was born on Christmas Eve, 1942 in Harlingen, Texas to Charles and Ruby Edwards. Her father was an Aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and eventually worked with and retired from Pan Am airways. Her mother was a home maker with incredible culinary skills.

In her early life, Nancy grew up in Texas and California, eventually arriving to Long Island, New York while still in High School. She raised 2 sons, Darryl and Eric, while pursuing her own Professional, Educational, and Personal ambitions.

She acquired many Professional certifications and completed several Educational accomplishments, but was most proud of having acquired a Masters Degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University (1981), with an emphasis in Mental Health studies.

The Educational and work experiences provided our girl with many career options and she exercised several interesting options throughout her career. A few of the experiences were, but not limited to the following: Nursing Administrator for a New York hospital, traveling nurse based in Hawaii, Army Captain during Desert Storm, College instructor, and the loving nurse who helped your family members at several local hospitals.

Nancy was an avid reader, collecting of things, loved to travel, and had a knack for adopting pets that were not at the top of most peoples lists. A savior for the undesired. She loved to dance and owned the floor so well that no fewer than 3 tables would be buttocks-bonked with each song. She was open minded, insightful, and a brilliant listener, confidant, and counselor.

Nancy is survived by her sons Darryl (Mickie), Eric and sisters Synthia Vasilakos (Pete) and Ruby Kozma and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks and consideration to daughter-in-law Mickie Snedeker for without her Caregiving and support, we would have been challenged to say farewell from home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother from another mother, Joe Kozma.
