DENVER - Nicholas "Russ" Muir, 86, of Denver, passed away at his residence Monday, Nov. 6, 2017.
Russ was born Oct. 18, 1931, at White Plains.
He married Marlene Stoflet on Aug.10, 1968, at Mamaroneck. Martie died Sept. 10, 2010.
Russ was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country from 1949 to 1953 and had served on the Carrier Oriskany.
Russ operated the Russ Roofing Company in Larchmont, where he also was a firefighter for the Larchmont Fire Department serving as a lieutenant
He was a avid outdoor person and enjoyed gardening. He has lived in Denver since 1993.
Russ in survived by daughters, Donna Roth, Laurie Smith, Sandra Gironda, Wendy Ricozzi and Karen Riggs;11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 11. The Rev. Adrian Todd will officiate and offer prayers at the Vega Cemetery following the service.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in memory of Russ Muir to the Roxbury Fire Department Ambulance Fund or Senior Citizens Club of Roxbury.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
