Philip J. Moore


CHERRY VALLEY - Philip J. Moore, 77, of Cherry Valley, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019. He was born Feb. 7, 1942, in Cherry Valley.
Philip graduated from Cherry Valley Central School, worked in medical research, real estate and insurance. He retired from Remington Arms in Ilion, after 35 years of service.
Phil held an associate degree in carpentry from Oneonta State.
Additionally, he coached Little League baseball and soccer. Phil loved fishing with his grandsons and son-in-law, Herb, hunting deer, telling stories and sharing memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle (Hull) Moore; father, Elmer Moore; and daughter, Michelle.
Those left to cherish Phil's memory include his wife of 58 years, Catherine Kenney Moore; daughters, Catherine Moore, Denise Weaver (Herb), Jennifer Moore, special daughter, Eve Bouboulis; son, Matthew Moore (Amanda); grandchildren, Amanda Murphy, Daniel Murphy (Tina), Donovan Murphy (Beth), Michael Weaver, Dennis Weaver, Caitlin Weaver (Trace), Emma Moore, and Elijah Moore; great-grandchildren, Connor and Bailey Murphy; brother, Robert Moore (Charlotte) of Virginia Beach; many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and in-laws.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held at his home at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children's Hospital, American Diabetes Association, or Cherry Valley-Springfield Girls Varsity Basketball.

So sorry to hear about Phil. He was my first cousin and we spent a lot of time together growing up in Cherry Valley. I know he will be missed by his family and friends. Thinking of his wife and children and sending prayers. May he RIP.
