LAURENS - Richard Sterling Henderson, 57, of Laurens, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017.
Richard was born on Aug. 19, 1960, in Stamford, Connecticut, a son of the late Lucinda Henderson.
He was a 1978 graduate of Charlotte Valley Central School.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, later transferring to the U.S. Navy, and received an honorable discharge in 1983.
Prior to his passing, Richard was employed at Corning in Oneonta, as a union representative.
Richard was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures in his spare time.
He is survived by his lifetime friend, Doug Hulbert of Laurens; brother, Michael (Elvis Rosales) Henderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; uncle, John Henry (LeeAnne) Glasgow of South Carolina; aunt, Nancy Fay Subert of South Carolina; and three cousins, Jacklyn Robinson, Stella Glasgow and Lynn Glasgow, all of South Carolina. Richard is also survived by his many friends and many, many co-workers.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at Morris VFW Post 1417. Everyone who knew Richard is welcome to attend. Casual attire only is requested.
