COOPERSTOWN - Roger Alan Carr, 62, of Cooperstown, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Bassett Hospital, following a short illness.
He was born May 20, 1955, in Oneonta the son of Earl F. Carr Jr. and Mary (Countryman) Carr.
Roger graduated from Milford Central School with the Class of 1973.
A lifelong area resident, Roger was a carpenter. He worked for himself and also several area contractors.
He liked being in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, camping, his horses and playing softball and watching the NY Yankees. Roger and Chad were fortunate enough to go to several of their games.
Roger was a member of the NRA.
Roger is survived by his two children, Chad Carr (Hayley) and Casey Carr of Hartwick; his mother, Mary Carr of Cooperstown; his faithful friend, Cindy Carr of Hartwick; one sister, Maria Carr (Brian) of Oneonta; half-sister, Diane Hasenkamp of Milford; two nephews, Jeffrey Brandow of Virginia and Matthew Brandow of North Carolina and their children, Brody, Zachary and Rylynn; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta. There will be no funeral services.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in loving memory of Roger A. Carr.
