Russell L.'s Story
CAMDEN - Russell L. Conway, 57, of Camden, formerly of Walton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
He was born March 29, 1960, in Sidney, a son of Lyle and Charlotte Gordon Conway and graduated from Walton High School in 1978.
Russell served with the United States Army from 1978 until his honorable discharge in 1982.
He previously worked as a roofer, tunnel worker and truck driver before his employment with Sharman Propane.
Russell lived in the Camden area for the past 20 years and was an avid supporter of Little League and always enjoyed watching his sons play ball. Russ had a love for animals, enjoyed pony and horse pulls and also enjoyed Team Penning.
Surviving besides his mother, Charlotte Jones; are his maternal grandmother, Susan Palmatier, both of Walton; three sons, Chad Conway and Lisa Magtutu, Lusby, Maryland, Christopher Conway and Lisa Thompson, Binghamton, Cody and Jamie Conway, Oneonta; and a special daughter, Heidi Kelley, Marcy; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Devin, Dustin, Cayden, Bryden and Kaident; two sisters, Laurie Eckert, Unadilla and Carin and Kevin Wood, Walton; his longtime girlfriend, Lynette Clark; brother-in-law, Jon and Lana Clark; sisters-in-law, Karen Clark and Laura and Jamie Darling; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Besides his dad in 2006, he was also predeceased by a brother, Christopher in 1988.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home Inc., 109 Main St., Camden, with a service to follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Calling hours will be also be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, with a funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. at the New Hope Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the family, 8655 Whiskey Island Road, Camden, NY 13316.
