RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Shannon Mary Prime of the Town of Warren, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.
Shannon was born on Dec. 23, 1955, in Cooperstown, daughter of Jean and Tim VanBrink.
Shannon graduated from Springfield High School and attended SUNY Cobleskill.
She married Robert Prime on Aug. 28, 1976, in Cooperstown.
She went to work in 1973 for Otsego County's Public Health Nursing Service and, after many years, worked in other departments, including her last job as secretary in Building Services.
Shannon enjoyed Springfield's Fourth of July parade and volunteered at it each year. She liked going to Turning Stone, taking trips and water sports. She was a Richfield football mom, played pitch, loved her garden and flowers and life in general.
Shannon is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert Prime; son, Nat Prime; Yager, the family dog; sister, Susan Wengenack; brothers, Frank and Bruce VanBrink; mother-in-law, Genevive Prime; brother and sisters-in-law, Brenda Fredericksen, Nadine and Joe Germond, Terry and Sharlene Prime; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend.
Shannon was predeceased by her son, Todd; mother and father; and father-in-law, Cecil Prime.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
Memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Fire Department, Richfield Emergency Squad, or Susquehanna Animal Shelter.
