William Stanley Reed

July 25, 1967 - November 18, 2017

COOPERSTOWN - William Stanley Reed, 50, of Walnut Street, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 18, 2017. He had the comfort of his loving family by his side at the time of his passing.
William was born July 25, 1967, in South Bridge, Massachusetts, son of the late Stanley William Reed and Lela Mae Buell Reed.
He was raised and educated in Holland, Massachusetts and was a repair technician with American Homes.
His greatest passion was being a father to his son. Along with his son, Tristen, he was very active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was also an Assistant Troop Leader with Troop 14 in Richfield Springs. Billy was one who enjoyed the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. He was one who was quick with his mind and great with problem solving. Truly a friend to many and he will never be forgotten.
Besides his mother, Lela, he is survived by his son, Tristen William Reed of Cooperstown; three sisters, Brenda Reed and her companion, Alfred Zoeller of Cooperstown, Lori Ann Reed and her companion, Michael Olinsky of Cooperstown and Sue Oleksy and her husband, Louis of Brooklyn, Connecticut; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life for William will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2 , in The Old Stone Church, State Highway 28, Schuyler Lake, with Pastor Rick Kinney officiating. The family receive relatives and friends from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
