EAST MEREDITH - Alan J. Jaklitsch, 73, passed away Oct. 19, 2024 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

He was born July 8, 1951 in Uniondale, the son of Ernest and Mary Ann (Rupp) Jaklitsch.

Alan married Charlene Rice in August of 1978.

He retired from A.O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta.

Alan was a hard-working man, who liked to keep busy. He loved his family and especially adored his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Jaklitsch; son, Jeremy Jaklitsch; granddaughters, Keenan and Mitzi Jaklitsch; daughter-in-law, Marshall Kruse; sister, Susan (Norman) Hanor; sisters-in-law, Roberta Persing and Denise (Harold) Wakin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Alan's request, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
