Otego, NY - OTEGO / GILBERTSVILLE - Allan R. Mikol, 90, passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2026, at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. He was born on July 15, 1936, in the Bronx, to the late Walter and Amelia (Lingel) Mikol. Allan proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1959. On Aug. 2, 1959, he married the love of his life, Lorraine, in Bethpage. Together they shared a wonderful bond, until her passing in 2024.

Allan and his family moved to Gilbertsville in 1972. Allan especially enjoyed the outdoors, spending many hours mowing and working around their home. Having several large maple trees on the property, making maple syrup with his children in the springtime was always a favorite. He was a talented woodworker and especially enjoyed making picture frames for his wife Lorraine's paintings, a reflection of both his creativity and his love for her.

Allan retired from Doron Precision after spending many years working as an electrical engineer. He was a member of the Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church.

Family was at the center of Allan's life. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first. He cherished the company of his close friends and family and enjoyed listening to easy-listening music. Allan will be remembered for his kindness, gentle nature, and the love he so freely gave to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Jeffrey) Henry of Greene; grandchildren, Eric (Rachael) Henry of Forest Grove, Oregon, Alexander (Maggie) Henry of Greene, and Jennifer (Dominic) DiTomaso of Hyde Park; great-grandchildren, Emmerson, Cade, Danny, Malerie, Luca, and Leonardo; daughter-in-law, Antionette Mikol; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Allan was predeceased by his loving wife, Lorraine; son, David Mikol; parents, Walter and Amelia Mikol; brother, Warren (Diana) Mikol; and sister, Barbara (Edward) Fletcher.

Allan leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry his love with them. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Tavern 1244 at Baron's Inn, 1244 State Route 12, Greene, NY. This will be a time for us to come together to share stories, laughter and memories of a man who touched so many lives.
