Bainbridge - BAINBRIDGE - Ann Schoelier, born June 5, 1942, passed away peacefully Oct. 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Known to her family as "Beppe," the Frisian Dutch word for grandmother, Ann was a remarkable woman whose strength, warmth, and wisdom left a lasting impact on all who knew her. A smart, loving, and deeply religious woman, she was known for her straightforward nature, always willing to share her thoughts when needed. Her sense of conviction and love for others made her an inspirational figure for her family.
Ann found joy in her garden, lovingly tended by her sons and grandchildren, and took delight in completing intricate puzzles. Even in life's challenges, she remained uplifting, bringing warmth and light to those around her. Her big smile was hard-won, but when it came, it was pure joy for those who were close to her.
Despite facing physical limitations, Ann's strong spirit drove her to remain independent. She never wished to inconvenience anyone, though her family always felt privileged to be by her side. Her unwavering values of openness, love and commitment to one's convictions left a legacy that will continue to guide her loved ones.
Ann shared a special bond with Mark, with whom she enjoyed exchanging quips and light-hearted jokes. These moments, along with the many she spent with her family, will be remembered and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Schoelier, and daughter, Debora Ostrander; Ann is survived by children, Henry (Paula), Frederick, and Sidney (Stephanie); seven grandchildren, Fred (Greg), Dustin, Victoria (Mark), Katrina (Chris), Timothy (McKenzie), Abigale, and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Aivyn, Maddison, Sloane, Greyson and Evelyn.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 12, at Gateway Alliance Church on Circle Drive in Sidney. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
