Annette G. Dart Obituary

ONEONTA - Annette G. Dart, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, entered into eternal life Friday, March 7, 2025, with her family at her side, following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 5, 1947, in New York City, the daughter of the late Dmytro and Gladys (Weschler) Banach. Annette raised her family on Long Island, alongside her late husband. She also earned a master's degree in social work from Adelphi University, spending much of her career working with Child Protective Services in Suffolk County.

Annette retired to Unadilla where she married her husband, James. The couple later moved to Oneonta, where they spent the last 16 years. As a retiree, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, garden, craft and was part of several groups and clubs. She was a member of the Oneonta Assembly of God for many years, and her faith family were very dear to her.

Annette is survived by her husband, James Dart; children, Debbie (Fred) Legat, John (Kim) Savastano, Cindy Pearce, Douglas (Patty) Savastano, Louis (Diana) Savastano, and daughter-in-law Theresa; grandchildren, Catherine, John, Jessica, Stephanie, Travis, Janelle, Tyler, Chaleigh, Cody, Chauna, Kristen, and their families; brother, Donald (Phyllis) Banach, newfound sisters, Sherylann and Anita, as well as many great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sons, Donald Savastano, and Charles Savastano.

Friends are invited to call upon the family from 3 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 16, at the Oneonta Assembly of God, 1667 County Highway 48, Oneonta. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor John Grenier officiating.

Annette will be laid to rest in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
