Arline Attanasso
ONEONTA - Arline Attanasso, 89, of Oneonta, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
She was born on June 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Sidney A. and Victoreen (Maher) Walter.
On May 13, 1950, Arline married Joseph Attanasso in Queens. Joseph predeceased her on Oct. 27, 1995.
In 1982, following Joseph's retirement, Arline and Joe moved to the area from Long Island.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and baking, especially her famous "mistake" sugar cookies. But what was most important to Arline was her family and making a home for her family, most importantly, followed by her faith and friends.
Arline is survived by her three children, Lynne Attanasso and her husband, Ralph Schoonebeek of Oneonta, James Attanasso of Oneonta and Steven Attanasso of New York City; one granddaughter, Beth Ellen Goetz of Oneonta; two great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Kelsey Goetz of Oneonta; one sister, Doris Thomas and her husband, Ralph of New Jersey; and one brother-in-law, Joseph DeMalo of New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by an infant sister, Mary Walter; and her sister-in-law, Bobbi DeMalo.
At Arline's request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Memorial contributions in Arline's name may be made to Community Gospel Church, 12 Grove St., Oneonta, New York 13820 or Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, P.O. Box 88, Delhi, New York 13753.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Arline. Please accept our deepest condolences from the entire DeMalo family. I fondly remember spending many birthdays at Aunt Arline and Uncle Joe’s with a delicious roast beef dinner and of course her homemade chocolate cake. Please know she and your whole family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
