Sidney, New York - SIDNEY - Arthur F. Henry of Maryland, formerly of Liberty, a lifelong area resident and retired splicer for Verizon in Fallsburg and Cooperstown, died Thursday, March 26, 2026 in Sidney, with his family by his side. He was 89.

The son of the late Oscar and Juanita Tiffany Henry, he was born Feb. 9, 1937 in Liberty.

Arthur was a graduate of Liberty High School. He worked for Liberty Middletown Express and then for New York Telephone Co. before retiring from Verizon. Arthur had several passions in this world including a 59-year membership to Panther Mountain Hunting Club, a long history of service in the Boy Scouts of America, an avid square dancer, a long tenure as a lay preacher professing Jesus Christ from the pulpit, a member and past president of the Goodyear Lake Association, telling jokes with an enormous laugh, and of course, his family and many friends.

Survivors include his son, Kyle Henry and his fiancée Lori Bertsch of Sidney; daughter, Donna Schultes and her husband, Harley of Maryland; a triplet brother, Albert Henry of Liberty; sister, Linda Mills and her husband "Gib" of Corbett; four grandchildren, Philip Schultes (Logan), Rachel Baker (Charlie), Calvin Henry (Krissy), and Ryan Henry (Meg); 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Carolyn Elwell. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Rothacker Henry; a triplet sister, Alice Bradshaw; and sister, Jean Choquette.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Roscoe.

Celebration of life and memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 3 at Milford Center Community Bible Church, 2582 State Highway 28, Oneonta. Pastor Steve Fournier will officiate.

Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.
