DELHI - Barbara J. Sargent, 90, a 74-year resident of Irish Hill Road, Delhi, passed away on Jan. 20, 2021, at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, where she had resided since Aug. 25, 2020.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1930, in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of the late Dallas and Oase Neighbors.
Barbara was married to Robert C. Sargent Sr. on April 2, 1946, in Oneonta. They had been married for 65 years when Robert predeceased her on Aug. 24, 2011.
She was a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara is survived by her children, Carol (Howard) Fessenden of Laurens, Cora (Robert Hailston) Mueller of Bloomville, Mary Ann (Leon) Merrill of Hamden, Roberta (Carl) Edholm of Oneonta and Robert (Beverly) Sargent Jr., of Delhi; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Barbara's family expresses special thanks to Kathy W. from Robinson Terrace for her loving care of their mom and they thank all the nurses, doctors and caregivers while she was at Robinson Terrace.
A celebration of Barbara's life and graveside services will be announced later.
