UNADILLA - Barbara Munson, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, just shy of her 70th birthday.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Shirley (Roe) Ryder, born to them Nov. 19, 1954.

Barb married her loving and faithfully devoted husband, Gary Munson on Dec. 31, 1996.

She is the mother of Heather (Dave) Ward of Howes Cave, and Bret (Kelly) Barlow of Schenectady. She was blessed with two granddaughters, Karrie and Hunter Kosier and two grandsons, Evan and Cade Barlow. Barbara grew up with her three sisters, Rhonda (Roger) Carey of Oneonta, Connie (Larry) Bradt of Carlisle, and Yvonne (Jim) Herman of Esperance. She is survived by all of these along with many other beloved family members. Barb was known by those who knew her best as Beaner, Big Sis, Mother Hen, Mom, Gram and Bobbie Lee.

Barbara had a great love for all animals, especially her cat, Yumiko, and Dennis the cat who visited her porch daily. Barb could often be found feeding the squirrels, woodchucks, chipmunks, deer and birds. She looked forward to her morning coffee and connecting on email. Barbara liked doing crafts. In particular, crocheting decorations for every season and painting rocks. She shared these treasured handmade gifts with family and acquaintances. Barb was always a kid at heart and loved to laugh. She was big on birthday celebrations. Especially the cake!!! Her calendar was full of reminders of special dates making sure she never forgot to send a thoughtful email or card in the mail. She always thought of others! Barbara loved the little people and sought them out at family gatherings, having a goodie bag filled with sweet snacks for them. She was mindful to bring catnip and treats for the furry friends too. Barbara also enjoyed her flowers and plants and all the beauty they bring.

Barb's love for her family was immense and she will be missed by all. We love her dearly and always will.
