COBLESKILL - Barbara A. Raymond, 73, formerly of Cobleskill, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta, where she had lived for the past two and one-half years.

Born on Aug. 25, 1944, in Sidney, she was the daughter of Harold and Alice (Pangburn) Puffer.

Barbara was a longtime resident of Warnerville before moving to Cobleskill.

She was employed at SUNY Cobleskill for 37 years prior to retiring. Before that, Barbara worked at SUNY Oneonta in the printing shop and at National Bank and Trust Company in Norwich. She served as CSEA union officer for many years while at SUNY Cobleskill.

Barbara enjoyed bowling for many years, playing bingo and games with her family, and watching football. Barbara also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of BPOE No. 2040, serving as an officer for many years.

Her parents predeceased her, as well as her husband, Arthur Raymond; brothers, Ralph H. Puffer and Kenneth C. Puffer; sister, Kay Briggs and her four cats, Smokey, Wendy, Tigger, and Oscar (Baby Fat Man).

Survivors include her only son, William J. Elmore and daughter-in-law, Kimberly S. Elmore; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 13, followed by a memorial service at noon at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Officiating will be Richard Blodgett.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley Inc., P.O. Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
