Gilbertsville - GILBERTSVILLE - Betty-Jean Walton, 93, of Gilbertsville, passed away in comfort at Cooperstown Center on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.

Betty was born on March 25, 1929, in Morris, a daughter of the late William and Edna (Hackett) Olds.

On April 27, 1947 Betty married her lifelong partner, Richard H. Walton. Together, they had a beautiful marriage until his passing in 2020.

Betty spent most of her life taking care of her family. It was her family that she truly lived for, making sure everyone had a warm meal on their plate at night.

Betty was a faithful member of Holmesville Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for several years. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, canning vegetables, cooking, and loved to bake.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Kellie (Rose) Walton and Raelene Walton; grandchildren, William Stevens, Jill Stevens, Monica and Michele Walton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Granddaughter, Suzanne Stevens; brothers, Erford and Larry Olds and sister, Esther Butler, predeceased her.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until noon, Thursday, Sept. 22, at Holmesville Baptist Church, 3024 State Highway 8, South New Berlin. Her funeral service will be celebrated at the conclusion of calling hours. Her burial will then follow in Brookside Cemetery in Gilbertsville.

Her family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
