LAURENS - Betty R. Spoor, 94, passed away peacefully, at her home, on Friday, April 7, 2023. Betty was born on Dec. 31, 1928, in Oneonta, to the late Hans and Alma (Stanton) Jacobsen.
Betty was a librarian for Laurens Central School and volunteer for the town library. Her favorite pastime was reading books.
She enjoyed caring for her friends and family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Betty loved being outdoors on the farm and spending time with her dogs.
Betty is survived by her children, Tim Spoor, Terry (Deb) Spoor, Tracy (and his wife, Pam) Spoor; special daughter-in-law, Cathy Spoor; special nieces, Donna and Sue; grandchildren, TJ, Lacey, Leandra, Jim and Charity; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Spoor; son, Tom Spoor; and sisters, Beulah, Marion, Nora and Zet.
A memorial service will be held for her at the convenience of the family.

Her family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home of Morris.
