Brian E. Ackerman RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Brian E. Ackerman passed away June 17, 2014, in Riverview, Fla. He was born July 7, 1967, the son of David E. and Helen Ackerman. Brian attended school in Cherry Valley; graduated class of 1985. Brian went on to attend U.S. Air Force Schools from which he retired as Master Sergeant. Brian married Holly Haig while in the service and became the proud father of his son, Jonathon Ackerman. Jon's family, Tamara, Allison and Jackson were the focus of his admiration. Brian then married Rosemary Alvarado who he found to be his soulmate and the love of his life of 20 years. Throughout his military career Brian and Rosemary lived in Panama, Portugal, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan and then settled in Florida, where they made a beautiful home. Brian's passions were traveling to Panama and fun motorcycle trips with his wife, Rosemary, NASCAR races with his brothers and father, and golfing with his buddies, very special trips to Cherry Valley to spend time with his family and friends, and hunting trips that will never be forgotten. Brian's sense of humor, kindness and quick wittiness will be sadly missed. Brian was predeceased by his father, David E. Ackerman on Aug. 27, 2013. Brian is survived by his beautiful wife, Rosemary Alvarado Ackerman of Riverview Fla.; and Rosemary's mother, Nora; and sisters, Anita and Lourdes; his son, Jonathon Ackerman, daughter-in-law, Tamara, grandchildren, Allison and Jackson, all of Cherry Valley; his mother, Helen Yerdon (Roger) of West Winfield; brothers, David W. Ackerman of Gloucester, Mass., and Kenneth J. Ackerman of Davenport and their families; many nieces and nephews who Brian loved. Donations in Brian's honor may be made to the Wounded Warriors or any Disabled American Veterans organizations.
