CHERRY VALLEY - Carol Ann (Hull) Bressett of Cherry Valley, passed away peacefully April 1, 2025, at Cooperstown Center after an extended period of declining health.

Born in Cooperstown Feb. 26, 1942; the oldest daughter of James and Evelyn (Smith) Hull of Cherry Valley. Carol was a graduate of the Cherry Valley High School Class of 1960. She attended Ellis School of Nursing, was an LPN graduate of the A.O. Fox Hospital BOCES program and retired from Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital after a 36-year career as an LPN in the surgical outpatient department.

On April 14, 1962 she married Fabian J. Bressett III of Cherry Valley and they enjoyed a loving marriage of 52 years until his unexpected passing in March 2015.

A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Carol enjoyed all things nursing, traveling, antiquing and flea markets, reading, trips to the casino, winters in Myrtle Beach and riding in Fabe's 1950 Chrysler New Yorker that he restored. As members of the Wanderers Car Club and Country Cruisers, they enjoyed many happy times with the numerous friends they made during their outings and weekly cruise-ins. She was a member of Cherry Valley Methodist Church, Cherry Valley Museum and enjoyed lunches with the retired nurses group. She was a resident at Clara Welch Thanksgiving Home from November 2019 to December 2024.

Survivors include her three children, Amy Bressett of Cherry Valley, Lisa (John) Drake of Latham and Fabian J. Bressett IV of Edmeston; grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Drake, Adam Drake, Kendra (Matt) Wetzel, Paige (Matt) Bressett, Kelsey (Hunter) Bressett, and first great-grandson Spencer Wetzel. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Storms; sister-in-law, Marlene Clark; brother-in-law, Gene Ahl, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Evelyn Hull; in-laws, Fabian J. and Iva (Walker) Bressett; sisters, Barbara Ahl and Linda Roof; brother, James Hull; brothers-in-law, John Clark and George Storms; and daughter-in-law, Karen Bressett.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Ottman Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Cherry Valley, with services promptly following at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cherry Valley Cemetery.
