ONEONTA - After a prolonged illness, Carol D. Pidgeon, 69, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at Presbyterian Columbia Hospital, New York.

She was born April 27, 1955 in Schenectady, the daughter of Joseph and Betty (Goldberg) Gaies.

Carol graduated from SUNY Oneonta.

She married Michael Pidgeon on Aug. 10, 1980.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, who always put the needs of others first.

Carol was a dedicated employee at Mold-A-Matic for more than 40 years and even retired twice.

She enjoyed games, bingo, casino trips, traveling to beaches, reading, and family get-togethers.

Carol is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Pidgeon; sons, Chris Pidgeon (Dana) and Jason Pidgeon (Stacy); sister, Ellen Gaies and husband, Daniel Schrager; nephew, David (Cara) Schrager; and many beloved extended family and best friend, Doreen Vergari.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. A reception will follow and will be announced.
