STAMFORD - Charles E. Parys, 91, of Stamford passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2024, at Robinson Terrace.
Born May 18, 1933, in Stamford, Charles was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Moore) Parys. He was raised in Stamford area and attended Stamford Central School.
Charles proudly served in the U.S. military, first enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1953 and going on to reenlist in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1962. Charles worked at several area business in the Stamford area over the years.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his sisters, Julia Pickett and Marguerite Stanton; and brothers, Jerome, Leo, Louis and William Parys; and brothers-in-law, Al Orlowski, Richard Pickett and Ralph Stanton.
Charles is survived by his sister, Mary Orlowski of Valatie; sister-in-law: Ruth Parys of North Carolina; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, 27 Harper Street, Stamford. Burial with full military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
