West Burlington - WEST BURLINGTON - Cheryl "Sheri" Renee Rous, 68, of West Burlington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her home.

She was born in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Emery and Phyllis (Baker) Morse.

On Dec. 13, 1981, she married Gary B. Rous.

Sheri spent most of her life working for Catskill Area Hospice.

In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Sheri enjoyed shopping, reading, four-wheeling, and swimming. She thoroughly loved all her pets. Sheri will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky person that made a statement when she was in your presence.

She was a member of Morris VFW Post 1417, Ladies Auxiliary.

Sheri is survived by four of her children, Michael (Meghan) Swift, Tammy (Joel) Swift, Danielle Rous, and Kevin (Kim) Rous; brother, Jim (Electa) Morse; sisters, Kathy Oglesby, Barbara (David) White, and Nancy (Scott) Britton; grandchildren, Kaleb, Logan, Zeithan, Matthew, Margo, Miles, Maverick, Justin, Jason, and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jackson, Ellie, and Theodore; her beloved dog, Cline; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sheri was predeceased by her husband, Gary; mother, Phyllis (Leo) Sutherlin; father, Emery; son, Jeffrey Swift; and granddaughter, Erika Rous.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Morris VFW Post 1417, 314 Ellis Road, Laurens.

Sheri's family has entrusted her care to the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
