HARPERSFIELD - Christopher W. Oakley passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, following a brief illness.
Chris was born July 29, 1970, in Oneonta, son of Dennis and Tessa Oakley of Harpersfield.
Chris attended and graduated from Stamford Central School with the Class of '88. He then attended Long Island University of Southampton, graduating in marine biology and computer science.
Chris worked for Delaware County for the last 10 years as a computer programmer.
He enjoyed wheeling with all his wheeling friends, reading and camping.
Chris was a dedicated and loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Chris was predeceased by his brother, Ian M. Oakley.
He is survived by his loving parents, Dennis and Tessa Oakley; sisters, Deanna (William) O'Connor, Walton and Heather (Ryan Vollmar) Oakley, Bowling Green, Ohio; brothers, Anthony, Nigel and Clive Oakley; beloved nieces, Alexis and Caragh O'Connor.
A Mass will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan, 21, at Sacred Heart Church, 27 Harper St., Stamford.
A memorial and burial will be held in late April. Face coverings will be required for all in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for his young brothers at NBT Bank, P.O. Box h, Hobart, NY 13788, c/o Tessa Oakley, account ending in 8417.
